I Hate Cellphones
Thursday, February 15, 2001 I'm such a tech nerd. I actually bought a visorphone. Let me preface this by stating that I have always been a staunch opponent of cell phones. To put it bluntly, I fucking hate them and the people who use them. Oh, okay, not all people who use cell phones are cretins, but the inconsiderate jerks who leave their ringers on in the movie theater or think their conversations are so important they need to shout into a phone in a restaurant deserve to get a brain tumor. Having said that, I have resisted getting a cell phone for years. I've only actually used one once. As a firm believer in call screening, I don't even answer the phone at home. I really have no interest in getting calls while i'm out. But that was before I heard about the VisorPhone. What could be more fun? It's a tiny phone that fits into the springboard slot on the back of my Visor. Aside from having annoying cell phone functions, it can receive short text messages and also be used as a wireless modem. And best of all, I can now update my blogs when i'm away from a computer, not that I'm away from a computer all that often. Ok, so my VisorPhone was a pretty frivolous purchase, but I love it none the less. posted at 4:06 PM . link to this post .   .
